For me (Jolien) and Lianyun, the World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics 2022 (WCPG) was our first true large conference and we were very excited. Joined by our colleagues who attended the Schneefernerhaus workshop as well, we left for Florence, Italy.

The conference location was a bunker near the center of Florence. And there was plenty of room setup for the poster sessions. Both Lianyun and I had our abstracts accepted to present a poster on our latest work.

The poster sessions were successful, as we both obtained loads of feedback and got to share our ideas with many people. For those interested, I’ve added the poster right here:

A highlight from the conference was the networking session that took place in an actual palace. Wonderfully ornately decorated rooms were the backdrop for good conversations with new and old colleagues.

I am very proud of our colleagues who were able to present there work e.g. Vivek Appadurai, Morten Krebs, Loes Olde Loohuis

And I am very thankful for everyone who came by our posters, gave their feedback and thereby inspired future work and collaborations. I look forward to see everyone again in Montréal next year!
