I’m Jolien Rietkerk
Nice to meet you! As a postdoctoral researcher I work on trans-ancestry psychiatric genetics of Major Depressive Disorder. I am part of the POP-GEM lab of Dr. Roseann Peterson at the Institute for Genomics in Health (IGH) at SUNY Downstate.
I am hosted by Prof. Hanna van Loo and her lab at the University Center of Psychiatry at the University Medical Center Groningen.
In my research I use big population-datasets to study the genetic architecture of psychiatric disorders. I implement, develop and combine novel statistical genetics tools in my quest to understanding the biology and population dynamics of these disorders.
I am thrilled you found my corner of the internet!
