In October 2024 I was honoured to have the opportunity to visit Singapore for the World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics. I had a wonderful time catching up with everyone at the conference. But the experience was further enriched by it being the home-town of my supervisor Dr. Na Cai.

Even more exciting, she was awarded the Theodore Reich Early Career Award for outstanding research within 10 years of graduating! Her speech was truely inspiring and I am feeling ever so blessed to have had her guidance and mentorship during my time as her doctoral student.

I was able to present current updates to my work within our symposium: Heterogeneity and comorbidity: perspectives from biobanks, registries and EHRs. My talk slides are on the publications tab on my website. The resulting discussion was fruitful and I was inspired towards new research questions and improvements of my work.

I want to thank the organisers for inviting me to speak at this wonderful event, and all colleagues and extended research connections for making this a special final conference within my time as a PhD. I couldn’t have imagined a better closing to my time as a doctoral student!
