Organised by Dr. Andrew Schork, we were invited to attend a retreat and workshop in Gilleleje, Denmark. Sepcifically, this was retreat of the ExDep consortium, a group of population genetics researchers that work together towards improving the lives of those who live with Major Depressive Disorder.
And so, the attendees were invited to present their latest work and there were many fruitful discussions after each talk.
In addition, I fondly remember the workshop by Dr. Dana Lapato on twin studies and her tips on coding clearly and reproducibly in R, and presenting results in an automated manner.
Before and after the workshop there was also time for fun and sightseeing.
I am very thankful to Dr. Andrew Schork for organising this retreat and inviting us. And I specifically appreciate the new people I’ve met here and look forward to seeing everyone again!
