Last June I had the opportunity to present my work at BGA, the behavioral genetics association’s annual meeting, hosted in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Resulting in a few interesting dicussion and feedback points, my presentation (find it here) on our work on postpartum depression and reproductive related outcomes in the CONVERGE study was received well.
My work was embedded within the symposium of award-winning Dr. Madhur Singh, who presented the latest updates from the psycheMERGE network, as well as dr. Loes Olde Loohuis and dr. Daniel Howrigan, filling out a wonderful symposium on ‘global psychiatric genomics: expanding representation and refining genetic architecture across populations’.
Moreover, BGA was an especially great opportunity to both network with fellow researchers in the Netherlands and catch up with international colleagues. Especially those whom I work with on a daily basis but am fully remote from, it always proofs a great chance to get to talk to them and discuss projects and future plans.
As I am looking back, I am also looking forward already at the next conference in Glasgow, UK at the end of September. I’m very excited to get to present updates on this work in my poster there, where we are working on replication and additional cross-ancestry analyses in the All of Us dataset.
All in all, a reminder of how grateful I am for these opportunities, colleagues and work. Many thanks to the organizers and hosts of BGA for fostering such a wonderful community and experience.
